Patricia Anne Stanek (Long)

Patricia Anne (Stanek) Long, 83, of Lansing Michigan, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. Born on November 1, 1942, in Lansing, Michigan, Patricia graduated from Eastern High schools class of 1960. Patricia was a dedicated professional in the banking industry, having worked for Michigan National Bank and Flag Star Bank.

Patricia is survived by her three sons, William "Bill" (Heather) Long, Jr. (Saginaw, MI.), Bryan Long (Dallas, TX) and Aaron Long (Lansing, MI). She cherished her roles as grandmother to Christopher Briggs, Sydney (Ronnie) Eddington, Brayden Long and Brian Gotts and as great-grandmother to Harley, Josie, Ace and Amelia. Aunt to many nieces and nephew's. She is survived by her siblings, Richard (Kathy) Stanek, Bob (Cindy) Stanek, as well as her step-brothers, Bill (Cathi) Kiebler and Fred (Susan) Kiebler.

The family will host a visitation on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Holihan-Atkin-Barclay Funeral Home, Grand Ledge, MI. Per Patricia's request, a private graveside service will be held for the family at Deepdale Memorial Gardens. Patricia will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and the love she shared with her family and friends.

Patricia was preceded in death by her mother, Helen (Stanek) Kiebler, father, Robert Stanek, sister, Jeanne (Stanek) Wood and stepfather, Newell Kiebler.
Pat began her career as a bank teller at Michigan National Bank in 1971. While raising her three sons, Bill, Bryan, and Aaron, she attended night classes at Lansing Community College where she earned her Associates degree with top honors. Throughout her tenure at Michigan National Bank, Pat advanced through several leadership roles, including Assistant Bank Manager, District Manager, and Regional Manager. As Operations Manager at the bank's operations center, she was part of the team that launched the first debit card system. She concluded her time there as Vice President of the Consumer Loans Department. Additionally, she served as a part-time banking instructor at Lansing Community College. Pat later joined Flagstar Bank in Jackson, MI, as Vice President of Consumer Loans. After retiring in 2004, she enjoyed spending time with her family at her cottage on Wixom Lake. So many joy and laughter-filled moments!
A dedicated professional and volunteer, Pat was a member of the American Business Women's Association and was honored as the American Business Woman of the Year. Her lifelong commitment to service began as a Candy Striper at Sparrow Hospital while in high school and continued through her volunteer work at the Ingham Medical Hospital's McRee Guest House, C.A.S.A. and Sparrow Hospital. She raised her sons to appreciate the joy of service as a volunteer and they followed in her footsteps. Pat was a surrogate mother to family and many of her sons' friends.
Pat's greatest passion was her family. She treasured her time at her cottage, especially when family gathered there. Pat also enjoyed gardening, including pulling weeds, and never killed a worm. She enjoyed cooking family members' favorite meals for their birthday and holidays. Pat always looked forward to her monthly lunch gathering with her Eastern High School girlfriends, and the annual Christmas cookie decorating day with friends she made at Michigan National Bank. Pat enjoyed her 5:00 p.m. happy hour wherever she happened to be.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Independence Village of Saginaw, MI along with the CorsoCare staff and CorsoCare Hospice staff for their exceptional care of our Mother.
