Sharon Kay Docking Wright

Sharon Kay Docking Wright passed away at the age of 82 on the evening of January 13, 2024. She was born December 26, 1941, in Lansing, Michigan to George and Mary Elaine Docking. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1960. Sharon worked at the Michigan Accident Fund for many years and then later worked for the State of Michigan, Dept of Corrections where she retired as an employee with the state of Michigan.

Sharon married John Edward Wright in 1961 and they enjoyed many hobbies including fishing and motorcycling. After living in Lansing many years Sharon and John moved to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where they continued to enjoy the remaining years of their lives.

Sharon was a member of the American Business Women's Association, Sweet Adelines Singing Group, Red Hats Society, Baraga American Legion Post 444 and the American Legion Women's Auxiliary, and enjoyed traveling all over the United States and other countries with the Upper Peninsula Travelers Group.

Sharon is survived by her son, Jon Wright of Winter Haven, Florida, daughter Lisa Wright Villalon (Antonio) of San Antonio, Texas, grandson Anthony, granddaughter Breanna, brother Gerald Docking (Sandra) of Lansing, Michigan, sister Maxine Hodges (Terry), several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband John E Wright (2012), Father George Docking and mother, Mary Elaine Docking.

A memorial service and burial will be held at a later date in the spring through Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, Lansing, Michigan.
