Richard Edward Lucas

Richard was born May 2, 1942 in Norfolk, Virginia to Robert and Norma Lucas, passed away June 23, 2014 at the age of 72. Richard graduated in 1960 from Eastern High School and was a 1964 Michigan State University graduate. He served in the Peace Corp from 1964-1966. Also, Richard obtained his Masters of Library Science from Western Michigan University. He was employed as the Senior Librarian for the State of Michigan. Richard was past President of the Mid-Michigan Genealogical Society, and will be missed.

Richard was preceded in death by his father, Robert. He is survived by his wife Ann of 45 years; daughter, Rebecca (Nicholas) Slager; son, Andrew Lucas; mother, Norma Lucas and brothers, Raymond, Milton, Keith and Charles Lucas.

Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society , 1755 Abbey Rd, East Lansing, MI 48823 in memory of Richard.
